Yes, this is an ear made from artline pen dots... (more intense laborious tasks of a seemingly pointless nature required for my course)

Drew it using a grid system, not tracing, you asses. The idea of the exercise was to teach you about tone by drawing something without lines or some shit that I already know about.

What course is that? Does seem to have a focus on time-intensive, laborius tasks... though things look good at the end.

i do not understand how this is possible.

explain this 'grid system' to me, i just don't see how you can 'replicate' (sort of) regular drawing/shading etc. with dots unless you got phat noonga skills or something

OK, you get a reference image, in this case just a b&w print out, then you draw a basic grid over the image with a pen or something. You then get the paper you are going to do the drawing on, and draw the exact same grid (scale 1:1) on that - in pencil. It's pretty simple, it's just the idea of drawing one grid square at a time, which makes the overall image easier to draw because you have the grid as a reference. After you're finished you just erase the pencil grid left behind. But yeah, it's somewhat cheap. Except I think in this case, considering how gay this was to do - every dot was an individual dot i drew with a pen.
